Charlotte participants will meet uptown at Marshall Park on Saturday, May 19th. Register by 9:30am. I participate in the walk every year in memory of my aunt. She inspired me to get a college degree and to become the independent handful that I am!
A little about ALS:
The disease attacks nerve cells in the brain and spinal cord. The mind remains acute, but the ability to communicate becomes more difficult as the disease progresses. When motor neurons die, the brain loses the ability to transmit information to voluntary muscles; this can result in partial or full paralysis. There is no known cause or cure for this disease.
Donations are not required but all donations support the ALS association (ALSA). ALSA supports scientific research and provides services for patients and their families.
