Jonathan and Catherine

Jonathan and Catherine had a beautiful outdoor ceremony at the Weymouth Center in Southern Pines. When Jonathan contacted me about photographing the wedding, I made my best effort to decline because of the distance and the fact that he is also a professional photographer. I’m so happy that he didn’t take no for an answer LOL! He and Catherine are the most laid-back couple ever. Catherine’s Aunt Linda is an event planner; she rounded up everyone for pictures and kept everything on schedule. I was disappointed to find out that she lives in Florida! Here are a few favorites…!

Crystal and David

Thanks to Crystal and David for being patient with me during their engagement shoot! We had to wait until it got dark to go to the fair. We thought it would be a great idea to get on the ferris wheel together for pictures but it didn’t work out so well! I would see them for 2 seconds and then they were gone! We managed to get plenty of great images anyway. I only regret that I forgot to get cotton candy before we left!

Camden and Jeremy

Camden and Jeremy brought their 4-year-old niece along for their portrait session- she is absolutely adorable! When she saw me, she said, “I remember you! You’re the clown!” My hair is bright red now so I guess I may resemble one- hehe. ;) Here are a few favorites from their session. We are less than a month away from the big day!

Peak wedding season

…has arrived! This is my busiest time of year. I have weddings on Saturdays and Sundays throughout September and October. Galleries, print orders, and album designs will take up to a week longer than usual this month so just bear with me…! Thanks!  =)

Morgan’s senior portraits

Senior portraits are by far my favorite because they are so much fun! It’s great to be able to shoot without worrying about getting a little dirty! I have to be super careful during bridal sessions, but with seniors there are no worries! Morgan is so adventurous. She posed on the railroad tracks, climbed a fence and a water tower, and was up for anything. I could just go on shooting forever during these sessions…! Morgan’s mom contacted me after they got her senior pictures back from school. They weren’t very happy with the school pictures. We captured over 100 amazing images during her session- it was cake! ;)

Misty’s bridal session

Misty has a lot of unique ideas for her wedding. I can’t wait to see how everything comes together! The color red represents luck in other cultures. Many brides wear red on their wedding day in other countries, but it is definitely not common here! As the world has become more westernized, brides in other countries have adopted the white wedding dress for the main ceremony, but they often change into traditional red dresses at the reception. There is nothing wrong with doing your own thing….I admire my brides who know what they want and go for it, regardless of tradition! Here are a few faves from Misty’s session:

Erin and Ian

I was in for quite a surprise at Erin and Ian’s wedding! I had NO idea that they were going to perform several songs at the reception! In the middle of their first dance, they surprised everyone by going on stage to put their own spin on the song. The kids loved it! They were allover the dance floor. Ian and his brothers played guitar, drums, and DJ’ed. They kept the party going all night! Erin was a stunning bride- I am so envious of her dimples! A few favorites:
