Kristen and Perry

Kristen and Perry had their wedding at All Saints Episcopal church in Concord.  They have to be one of the most fortunate couples that I have ever met! They have so many amazing, supportive people in their lives. Their wedding party consisted of 32 people! Everyone says the same thing when they see Kristen and Perry’s pictures: “I wish I had as many friends!” If you spend any time with them at all, you understand why they do. The funniest part of the day had to be when Kristen surprised Perry with a hula hoop on the dance floor. He impressed all of us with his hula moves! The worst part of the day for me was at the end of the night. As I was getting ready to take pictures of them driving away….I closed the car door…..on Kristen’s fingers! I was horrified! It was such a relief to find that she wasn’t hurt. I’m a bit of a klutz so I normally try to keep my distance! =)

Magan and Matt

Matt proposed to Magan in Blowing Rock, one of my favorite towns. It is so charming and quaint! If you have never been, you should definitely check it out during the fall season. We photographed their engagement session the week that I went on vacation so they had to wait until I returned to view their gallery. I can’t thank them enough for their patience! =) I love the beat up old truck we came across during the session! Here are a few favorites:

Lauren at Childress Vineyards

We photographed Lauren’s session at Childress Vineyards in Lexington. After we finished there, we headed to her parent’s house. A neighbor’s dogs were going CRAZY during the shoot, but since they were fenced in we didn’t pay them much attention. Before we knew it, the biggest bulldog I’ve ever seen climbed over the fence and started growling at us! I froze while Lauren’s aunt reached out to the dog. It snapped at her hand like it was going to bite her. I just kept thinking of what might happen to Lauren’s dress if the dog approached her. Lauren’s mom and aunt led the dog away from us and that pretty much wrapped up our shoot!

Crystal and David at The Point in Mooresville

We were all hoping for a beautiful day for Crystal and David’s wedding at The Point in Mooresville, but we got more than expected! The 90 degree weather was definitely unusual for October. During the ceremony, there was a cute moment when David blotted Crystal’s forehead with his jacket…everyone laughed. We were all sweating in the heat! I love Crystal’s choice for the bridesmaid dresses…such a pretty shade of blue that really pops in the pictures. The last image below of Crystal and David dancing really shows off her gorgeous profile. Some people are lucky enough to look great from any angle!

Camden and Jeremy

Camden and Jeremy definitely win the award for coolest couple when it comes to coping with wedding day mishaps! Camden spent a lot of time finding the ideal wedding cake only to find out that it was dropped in the parking lot on the way to the wedding! Friends had to rush to the grocery store to find a replacement. The store was kind enough to send over their display cake, which was then decorated with flowers to match the wedding. I love the action shot below of Jeremy eating cake!

Kristen’s bridal

We photographed Kristen’s bridal session at Lake Norman. I live in Birkdale Village so it was nice to work right around the corner from my house for once! Thanks to Elena and Mike for opening their beautiful home to us for the shoot. There were so many stunning areas; we took pictures until the sun went down! Perry loves golf so we had to include his golf clubs for a few.

Andrew’s senior portraits

Andrew is planning to enroll in the Air Force Academy after high school graduation. I spent several years in the Air Force as a Russian linguist so I know exactly what he is in for! The military definitely isn’t for everyone, but it sounds like Andrew has what it takes to succeed at anything he puts his mind to! A few favorites from his session:
