Vacation

Last fall, Chad got frustrated with me because I was too busy to even talk about taking a vacation. Every time he brought it up, I would tell him that I couldn’t take the time off. So one day, he walks out of his office and says, “if you could go anywhere, where would it be?”

I didn’t even hesitate before replying, “Prague and Italy.”

He left the room and within minutes came back to tell me that he had booked our flights. I couldn’t believe it! He is sneaky like that! =) We’re both workaholics so it was definitely nice to get away for a bit!

I love traveling with him because he is so adventurous! We found a tiny locals restaurant in Venice where our server suggested that we try the Squid Ink Spaghetti. I was not about to eat squid ink but I was thrilled that Chad gave it a try. We both raised our eyebrows when they delivered the black stained noodles, but it was seriously one of the most unique and delicious meals we had ever had! It was funny to be sitting across from each other with black stained teeth and lips…I wish I had had my camera.

The last time I was in Venice, I was traveling alone. I wanted to go out on a gondola then, but I couldn’t justify taking a romantic gondola ride by myself! I was excited when Chad suggested it. The sunset that night was stunning! The sky was a swirly mixture of pinks and purples. The sunset image below was taken just before our gondola ride.
