I met Kristen, her mom, and Perry at the beginning of the year. We had a lot of laughs during the consultation; I was thrilled when they decided to book me for their October wedding. Several months after meeting, we discovered that Kristen’s mom works at my attorney’s office- what a small world! Here are a few images from their engagement session. As you can see, these two couldn’t take a bad picture if they tried!

Thanks to Crystal and David for being patient with me during their engagement shoot! We had to wait until it got dark to go to the fair. We thought it would be a great idea to get on the ferris wheel together for pictures but it didn’t work out so well! I would see them for 2 seconds and then they were gone! We managed to get plenty of great images anyway. I only regret that I forgot to get cotton candy before we left!

Camden and Jeremy brought their 4-year-old niece along for their portrait session- she is absolutely adorable! When she saw me, she said, “I remember you! You’re the clown!” My hair is bright red now so I guess I may resemble one- hehe. ;) Here are a few favorites from their session. We are less than a month away from the big day!

There was a thunderstorm about 30 minutes before we started Lauren and Luther John’s engagement session. I thought we were going to have to reschedule but the rain stopped just in time! If you look closely at the third image, you will see a butterfly in the top left corner. I was hoping it would land on one of us for luck, but that didn’t happen! Since both Lauren and LJ are in the medical field, we just HAD to get a few shots with their stethoscopes! LOL

We started this engagement session in a park but the setting just did not match Erin and Ian’s personalities! Our second location was much more colorful and really brought out their fun side! Here are a few favorites from their session:

I met Ragan and her mom in January. She had already booked her wedding photographer so I didn’t expect to hear back from her. I was super excited when she and her mom came out to the studio anyway. I could have hung out with them for hours! The day that we photographed Ragan and Josh’s engagement session, there was a 100k bicycle ride. There were bikers everywhere! You can see them in the background of one of the pictures below. I loved Ragan’s bright shoes and colorful toenails so I had to get a close-up of her ring over them. One of my favorites is the one taken on the playground: I keep waiting for someone to say no to certain poses! It’s great to work with easygoing couples who are up for anything! =)

Stephanie and Mark have been together for four years. We were allover the place this weekend taking pictures! We went to the park where Mark proposed a year and a half ago. His proposal was so sweet and romantic- Stephanie had no idea it was coming! Here are a few pictures from their session:

I met Lisa at the bridal show in January. We seemed to click immediately - I was so stoked because she booked me on the spot! She and Steve are getting married in September. We picked a crazy time for an engagement session! It was so windy and there was a basketball event so people were everywhere. We still managed to get some great shots. These two are so natural together- the chemistry between them is unbelievable! I love the way they laugh together. I must have the best job in the world because it gives me the opportunity to meet such wonderful people and to be a part of their special day. A few favorites:

Engagement sessions are my favorite to photograph. I have so much fun getting to know couples during these sessions- the time just flies by! We started this session early in the morning. I’m not a morning person, but for once I was happy to be up by 8am because we had time to get a ton of amazing pictures at a variety of places. David and Katlyn are an incredible couple. David attends Appalachian State where Katlyn hopes to join him next year. We had to break out the Appalachian shirts for a few pics!

Ashley and Jeff are getting married next October. I loved their swank style. They were up for anything during their session! We played in the fall leaves and balanced Ashley on a hanging limb for a few shots. That was scary for me, but we pulled it off. Here are a few from their session.
