A few more from Alyse’s senior portrait session. We got so much variety, I had trouble narrowing them down! Where I grew up, everyone hired an independent photographer for their senior portraits. The schools even allowed modern senior portraits in the yearbook verses the traditional shots taken by the school photographer. We had to pose for the boring school headshots, but nobody purchased them. Who wants pictures that look like everybody else’s?!

I wish senior portraits would catch on here the way they have in the Midwest because I adore photographing these sessions! I always get the shots that mom loves, along with more adventurous shots that show some personality. I’m running a senior portrait promotion through the summer. Andrew is planning to enroll in the Air Force Academy after high school graduation. I spent several years in the Air Force as a Russian linguist so I know exactly what he is in for! The military definitely isn’t for everyone, but it sounds like Andrew has what it takes to succeed at anything he puts his mind to! A few favorites from his session:

Senior portraits are by far my favorite because they are so much fun! It’s great to be able to shoot without worrying about getting a little dirty! I have to be super careful during bridal sessions, but with seniors there are no worries! Morgan is so adventurous. She posed on the railroad tracks, climbed a fence and a water tower, and was up for anything. I could just go on shooting forever during these sessions…! Morgan’s mom contacted me after they got her senior pictures back from school. They weren’t very happy with the school pictures. We captured over 100 amazing images during her session- it was cake! ;)

I had so much fun shooting Katlyn’s pictures today! Not only was she easy to work with, but she also has the most beautiful blue eyes I’ve ever seen! We got so many great shots…it was hard to narrow them down.
